Explore the Wild: Discover the Beauty of the Thornybush Game Reserve
At Little Saseka, families and small parties can stay in their own safari tent within Saseka Tented Camp. An exclusive-use option that also caters for children, you’ll have a spacious living and dining area with an expansive private deck and pool overlooking the Monwana riverbed. Little Saseka Tent can accommodate two adults and two small children, and if you need to accommodate additional people, you can book two or three adjacent tents as part of your private group.
Little Saseka was created by iconic architects Silvio Rech and Lesley Carstens and is a design masterclass in the juxtaposition of old and new. The luxury tent is a reinterpretation of the canvas ones used by settlers during the early Gold Rush that has been combined with 21st century texture and style. Every detail has been inspired by history and love of the land, and this radiates from the staff, who are passionate about the area.
With a personal chef and dedicated butler, you really won’t need to do more than relax and unwind with your family. Spend the day by the pool, snooze in the afternoon or indulge in a wellness treatment on your private deck. Our staff can also keep the kids busy with a range of fun and educational activities.
Game drives are in a private open-air safari vehicle with your own expert guide and tracker, which gives you the freedom to plan your own day. You can explore 15 000 hectares of unspoilt bush in the Greater Kruger Park area, home to some of the most diverse concentrations of wildlife in South Africa.
Experience the ultimate intimacy of the Little Saseka. As a sole-use option, this space grants you the privacy of staying at your own lodge within the magnificent grounds of Saseka Tented Camp, overlooking the seasonal Monwana riverbed.
Embrace the privacy of this exclusive-use accommodation for your whole family or small group. The main villa includes a tented suite, sunken outdoor lounge and fire pit as well as an indoor lounge area. With space for up to six people, accommodated in adjacent tented suites, you’re able to experience the luxury of the bush in a prime setting.
Included in your booking is a private game drive vehicle with a guide and tracker that will take you on two drives daily, an option for a dedicated chef that prepares your meals in your own private kitchen plus a communal area that allows you to relax and deepen your connection with the bush. Whether it’s lounging by your own large private pool or listening to the sounds of a crackling fire, this 230m2 private setting gives you the quintessential accommodation experience.
The day starts as dawn breaks over the African bushveld. After an early morning wake-up call, coffee, tea and rusks are served on the main deck. Shortly after, depart in an open Land Cruiser with experienced Guides and Trackers who will share their extensive knowledge of the bush. These drives are undertaken at times best suited for game viewing which varies depending on the season but typically starts early morning. Where applicable you may be invited out of the vehicle to see tracks, examine certain plants and follow spoor.
The afternoon game drive is preceded by high tea and extends into the evening to view seldom seen nocturnal species by torchlight.
After a sumptuous Breakfast is served either back at the camp or in the riverbed or bush, guests are offered walks to suit their interests and fitness levels and are accompanied by an armed guide and tracker.
Walks allow guests a better chance to see some of the smaller creatures of the bush as well as an opportunity to learn more about the flora and fauna of the region, and to have a chance to follow tracks in more detail.
One-hour long flight over the scenic, Lowveld section of the Blyde River. As the sun rises, the landscape, the vegetation and, if you’re lucky, some wildlife will provide photo opportunities. Game spotting cannot be guaranteed but on most flights, we see plains game such as giraffe and wildebeest. Terms & Conditions apply – additional cost.
