This new camp that has opened in the Timbavati area is called Nsala Safari Camp and located in a game-rich private game reserve sharing unfenced borders with the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, the Klasserie Priavte Nature Reserve and the Kruger National Park. Nsala Safari Camp is an intimate and rustic bush camp hugged within the arm of the Marula and towering leadwood tree perched on the banks of a dry riverbed overlooking the gentle bend of the meandering river. Nsala Safari Camp is nestled within 5,000 hectares of traverse, the majority of which is within the Timbavati and comprises of a mixture of bushveld interspersed with dry riverbeds and riverine vegetation. Nsala Safari Camp offers unparalleled game viewing opportunities in a concession considered a sanctuary for wildlife.
Nsala Safari Camp lies adjacent to the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve and the Kruger National Park with no fences in between allowing wildlife to roam free between the reserves. Due to its small size and hugged by Leadwood and Marula trees, Nsala is a rustic safari camp offering a very personal and intimate safari experience.
Nsala features three thatched chalets. Each of the spacious chalets is fully-enclosed with wooden glass sliding door which leads onto a small patio featuring table and chairs. The bathroom is set in a separate room, offering a toilet, a sink, bathroom furniture as well as an expansive shower. The chalets can either be configured in a twin-bed or king set-up. The camp has been constructed on an elevated area which is sheltered by a high-reaching thatched roof. The Nsala Private Game Reserve is home to the Big Five and features a wealth of mammals and other predators. Guests explore on their safari drives lions, leopards, hyenas, cheetahs, African wild dogs, and the Nile crocodiles to mention but a few of the predators found here. Smaller wildlife includes jackals, mongooses, civets, and genets, among others. As this area has various riverbeds, plenty of den sites are available for big cats. Furthermore, mammals can be admired during the morning and afternoon safaris such as elephants, giraffes, hippos, buffalos, and rhinos. The varied habitat forms a bird watchers paradise with water birds such as herons, storks, spoonbills, and sandpipers being found here.
