We do our outmost to ensure our guests have the safari experience of a lifetime! Due to the fact that Nyati Safari Lodge is situated in a private corner of the well known Kruger National Park, we always have very good chances of spotting the “Big Five”: “Big 5” is a traditional hunters’ way of describing lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffaloes.

The game drives take you on an exciting drive through the bush in open Jeeps, with your experienced safari guide. There will be stops in some of South Africa’s most beautiful view points in order for you to stretch your legs.

Along the way you will have ample opportunity to spot “the Big 5” and the natural South African wildlife. When game driving in the afternoon, we stop for refreshments and watch the beautiful sunset. Back at the lodge you will have time to relax before pre-dinner drinks in the bar.

The lodge consists of the main building with restaurant, bar, shop, pool and lounge area, 10 exclusive bungalows, 6 private Olifant villa suites and the separate Cheetah Camp, suitable for private groups of up to 14 people.

All lodgings are located right on the Olifants River overlooking the wild, raw and unspoilt nature, and the buildings are connected with a cosy network of paths and footbridges. The hallmarks of NYATI Safari Lodge is an elegant combination of Scandinavian quality standards and African rustic style, where solid walls, thatched roofs and woods species are characteristic. Nyati Cheetah Camp is a private exclusive camp, situated next to the Olifants River and just few minutes’ walking distance from the main lodge, yet secluded enough to be able to offer a private atmosphere. With room for up to 12 guests on 500 sq. meters with private pool, terraces, private chef and own safari car with driver/guide, the Nyati Cheetah Camp offers a unique brand of exclusivity and personal service.

The camp consists of two large villas, luxuriously furnished with spacious living areas, fire places and fully equipped kitchens. The villas share a private swimming pool, several terraces facing the Olifants River and a large “Boma”, which is an African barbecue area. Get a unique safari experience on a 3 day safari on foot through NYATI’s own Big 5 game reserve, which borders directly to South Africa’s famous Kruger National Park. There is no fence between NYATI’s land and the Kruger Park itself, so the wild animals can move freely around here. This trip is for adventurers and nature lovers who are looking for a walking safari experience like no other. You will be camping 2 nights, each night in a different location.

Each day is spent walking through the 10,000 hectare reserve, which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park, and each night is spent at a new, fully set up mobile campsite in a scenic location in the wildernes. A maximum of 8 guests (sleeping in 4 tents) are taken on the Kruger walking adventure at a time. A professional trained guide and tracker team will lead an informative, thrilling and unforgettable safari experience in the wild.

While you are out exploring Greater Kruger Park on foot, a ground team will be taking down the first camp and setting up the next one in a new location. A packed brunch will be enjoyed in the bush while snacks and refreshments will be offered upon arrival at the camp. Evening game drives complete the experience before campfire dinner at the campsite. You stay in your own tent with individual bucket showers and chemical toilets in the wild, and we make sure your luggage for your stay at NYATI Safari Lodge awaits you there.
